I know it's only Rock 'n' Roll but I like it!

Well the long awaited day finally arrived ... the day we saw The Rolling Stones live in concert and it ROCKED SO HARD! Yeah, you heard us, we actually used that lame phrase! That's how excited we were! When we bought our tickets way back in April we were just hoping nobody in the group would die before they got to SLC. They're super old but they can still give you your moneys worth. If you're into people watching this was the place to be. There were all sorts of interesting characters. We hope we're still as spunky as them when we hit 60 ... just clean & sober. Aaron was rockin' out to "Sympathy for the Devil" Mick put on the long coat & the hat the whole thing. I don't think I could pick a favorite song if I had to. I was just totally thrilled to see Mick in all of his 60-something year old glory doing his strut and pout and the whole thing better than anyone half his age. Many of you know about my strange adoration for the guy. And yes, I'm very aware that he's not attractive in the conventional sense ... okay I'll even admit he's technically pretty gross. But c'mon ... just humor me.

Oh my wordy! Aaron's THIRTY!

Aaron is officially a real live grown-up! Fortunately for me (and the wonderful youth in our neighborhood) Aaron's never really been one to act his age. He's just as youthful and fun as ever despite crossing over into a new demographic. For his big day on Tuesday I took off work & we had "Aaron day" like we do on Oct. 25th every year ... where the entire day is all about Aaron! It basically winds up with us hitting every pawn shop in the state & buying crazy -- but very useful -- crap. "Aaron Day" in 2005 really wasn't any different than "Aaron Day" in 1999 except since then he's taken up golf. So that has also become a part of "Aaron Day." :) The day was pretty uneventful so the best pictures we could share to really pay tribute to our wonderful Aaron were these ... you guessed it ... GOLFING in Hawaii! This was definitely one of the better days he's had in his 30 years. I have no idea how we'll ever top this when his 40th rolls around. He even let me tag along on his adventure! :) Fun side note: This golf course (Olomana) is where Michelle Wie practices nearly everyday after school. The guys there were waiting for her when we were there. We didn't hang around, but Aaron thought that was pretty neat. Aaron also got an awesome watch winder / box for his birthday. Yeah, I was pretty much the best wife ever for that 1 day. :) He won't post pictures because he thinks we'll get robbed. He says if you want to see it, you have to come over. :)

Aloha from Hawaii!

As promised we've finally posted some pics from our recent vacation. We were so thankful to be able to take some time away from the crazy life and enjoy the "spirit of aloha." We stayed just off of Waikiki Beach so of course we hit all of the favorite tourist traps in Waikiki as well as the touristy stuff elsewhere on Oahu -- Pearl Harbor, the Flea Market, Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Pineapple Plantation, famous Hawaii golf, etc. The highlight of our trip though (besides chillin' on the beach) was our visit to Laie and our time in the beautiful temple there. We drove the entire island just taking in the scenery. We promised ourselves we'd return soon & often! Aaron had a GREAT time snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. He's such a fish! Amy loved watching the cool island fish in the bay. It was amazing to see such variety in the wildlife. They looked like fish you see in a movie. This one was HUGE! I don't think the picture really did it justice. Here's us at the Polynesian Cultural Center luau. Aaron tried poke (raw fish!) and really liked it. He even ate poi which is totally disgusting but he took one for the team. Of course, like everywhere we go, Aaron found a few pawn shops & Amy found a shoe sale. We shopped a TON!!!!!

Better late than never

We finally joined the ranks of our more tech-savvy friends and family and got our own blog. And now all we have to do is make our semi-charmed life seem fabulously interesting! As we do not have children of our own, we will be shamelessly using pictures of YOUR children to encourage your visits to our blog. As an old immigrant woman once said "When you havva no babies, you havva nothing." We'd like to add "When your friends and families havva many beautiful babies, you havva many interesting posts for your blog!" Much love to everybody! Watch for posts with highlights from our recent trip to Hawaii.
